Umbrella Alley in San Francisco

Visiting Umbrella Alley in San Francisco, California provides a unique opportunity to see local artist displays. As you stroll down the streets adorned with colorful murals and eclectic shops, you will stumble upon this enchanting alleyway transformed into an imaginative wonderland. Enjoy rows of suspended umbrellas that are painted a vivid hue, creating a mesmerizing canopy overhead. Entering into this area where creativity abounds, many ordinary objects are elevated into works of art. There are several interactive murals available for you to enjoy and capture photos with, perfect for sharing on Instagram. The local artists showcase their creativity throughout this interactive display. This alley provides lots of color and a unique way to see San Francisco’s artistic talent up close.

Where is Umbrella Alley located?

Address: 757 Beach Street, San Francisco along Fisherman’s Wharf. Located next to Ghirardelli Square.

Hours: Winter 11am to sunset most days, Spring/Summer 10am to 6pm

No parking at this location, only in the surrounding area. Ghirardelli Square does have some parking.

Highly sought out tour! Enjoy a fun guided tour through San Franciso in a restored Volkswagen bus. Stop at iconic stops, sip wine, and enjoy the views. Prices start at $79.00.

Cost to visit

This attraction is FREE to visit but there is a box to add your donation if you desire. The suggested donation is $5 per adult and $3 per children. Venmo donations accepted also: alley-artists

There are 12 colorful displays to visit that leave a colorful echo in your mind. The area is a work in progress with more displays being added.
