The Tower of London is an historic fortress in the heart of London with over 1,000 years of British history. Whether you choose to step inside and explore the hallways or simply admire it from the banks of the Thames River, this historic landmark is the perfect place to stop as you tour London.
The Tower of London has been known as the royal palace, prison, treasury, and it houses the dazzling Crown Jewels. You can explore the medieval White Tower, walk along the ancient walls, and learn about the famous prisoners who once roamed the halls.
Built next to the Thames River, the Tower of London provides a fascinating experience for history lovers.
Tower of London Tours
A full tour will take you through centuries of royal history, from the Crown Jewels to the legendary Yeoman Warders. Open areas to explore at your pace include the Crown Jewels, The White Tower, Battlements, Bloody Tower, Torture at the Tower expedition, Fusiliers Museum, and Royal Mint expedition. Some expeditions may be limited in 2025 as they restore those areas.
You can book your tickets online or get them at the ticket office on the day of your visit. Allow up to three hours to explore the Tower of London at your own pace.
Ticket prices: Adult: £35.80, Child aged 5-15: £17.40, aged 0-4 free
Audio guide in multiple languages available for purchase with tickets.
Hours: open 9:00/10:00am Monday to Sunday until 17:30 (5:30pm)
Shopping: multiple shops inside and outside the Tower of London to pick up souvenirs, jewelry, toys, Christmas ornaments, china, and more.
Exterior Tower of London Tour
Visiting from the outside only will save you money and allows you to spend money on other activities in London that you desire more. Stroll along the Thames River for stunning views of Tower Bridge.
Visit the Tower of London Shop located outside the entrance to Tower of London to pick up a souvenir to take home.
Food inside the Tower
There are several food options inside and outside the Tower of London walls.
New Armouries Café - hot meals, soups, sandwiches, paninis, salads, pastry.
Ravens Café - outdoor cafe provides the perfect spot for a snack
Jewels Kiosk - located near the Jewel House where you can enjoy a snack and hot drink
Tower of London Café - an outdoor cafe offering snacks and cocktails and located near the Wharf by the Thames River
