A Day at the Texas Rangers Stadium
Planning our first trip in our campervan
I was finally ready to take our first trip in our campervan after a month of fixing the van into a livable space! I worked for months on an itinerary that would have something fun for everyone. Planning trips is something I love to do. I use Pinterest and Instagram to find travel ideas. I would save ideas in my boards on Pinterest and then go back through those boards and narrow down options for travel.
Globe Life Field
I want to start taking my son to different baseball stadiums throughout the US as he loves baseball. Since we were going to be in Texas visiting Magnolia Market, I knew this stadium was less than two hours away so we decided to add this to our list of places to visit.
Texas Rangers Baseball
We started out by going to a Texas Rangers baseball game at Globe Life Field.
I booked our parking lot online before we went. We drove around for a while unable to find our parking spot, feeling very frustrated, I was finally able to stop long enough to look at the map on my phone to find our parking lot. I wish there were better signs to guide us to each parking lot. I recommend having a map ready so you can find your spot easily, see the map below. Our parking fee for Lot L was $20 in 2021.
After we found our parking spot we made the short walk to the ball field. We were lucky to be able to visit their new stadium which was really amazing. The stadium was beautiful and spacious and I loved watching baseball at their new field! We were lucky to go on dollar hotdog day as it can be so expensive to eat at a ballgame! We spent over $60 with hotdogs, drinks and we shared a couple fries. We enjoyed our time at the ball game although the Rangers lost by one point in extra innings.
Address: 734 Stadium Dr, Arlington, Texas
Concessions: There are over 100 food venders to enjoy inside the ball park. All your ballgame favorites are included such as hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, BBQ, peanuts, popcorns, ice cream and more.
Events: multiple events happen throughout the year at Globe Life Field to include concerts with some well loved artists.
Tours: different tours of the stadium are available for an additional fee

Camping at Midway in Waco
After the game, we headed to Waco to camp for the night. We stayed in a small campground called Midway both nights we were in Waco. This campground is 1 hour 40 minutes from the Texas Rangers field. This was close to Magnolia Market which is where we planned to visit in the morning. Although this campground met our basic needs, the bathrooms were not the nicest. It stated there were showers but the women’s restroom did not have working showers although the men’s restroom did have one working shower. We pulled in at night both times so did not explore the campground so I cannot say too much about the care of the campground. We were right next to Waco lake which was nice to wake up to. We were able to hang our hammock along the trees for the short time we were there and enjoyed the lake view.
Camping: This campground has 32 sites which have water and electric hookups and 11 spots have sewer hookup as well. Paved camping sites.
Amenities: picnic table, grill, fire pit, playground, and shower house with flush toilets.
Cost: campsite was $16 tent only, $28 RV electric, $32 RV electric with sewer, and $42 RV electric double a night.
Hours: 6am to 10pm
Pets: Yes
