Enjoy Multiple Cuisines at the International Food on Wheels Festival in Orlando

International Food on Wheels Festival

Food truck festivals is something that my family and I really enjoy. The variety of foods you can find at these events makes it such a fun way to spend the day. Foods vary from a variety of cultural foods, BBQ, sweet treats, empanadas, and more, you will not go away hungry. So, when I saw that there was going to be a food truck festival in Orlando, I knew we had to go. The weather was going to be perfect, so we headed to the International Food on Wheels Festival for a fun family activity around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando.

Lake Eola is nestled in the heart of downtown Orlando and is full of energy and charm. With its iconic swan boats, lush greenery, and vibrant skyline backdrop, Lake Eola is the perfect oasis in the midst of the bustling city. In the neighborhood you will find trendy cafes, upscale dining spots, boutique shops, and cultural attractions, making it the perfect place to visit for locals and visitors alike.

Park hours: 6am to midnight

Cost: free to enter the event, food at vendors at your own expense

Event date: The International Food on Wheels Festival is held in April each year

Food and Shopping Vendors

There are multiple food options to choose from and several places to shop that allow you to support small local businesses. You can find a variety of items to shop for such as jewelry, wall hangings, tumblers, leather, bath items and more.

Lake Eola

Lake Eola is surrounded by a picturesque park known as Lake Eola Park. There is a 0.9-mile scenic walking path around the lake, a picnic area, live performances at the amphitheater, culinary indulgence, and swan boat rentals, offering a captivating blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty. Around the lake, you’ll find various restaurants, cafes, and shops within the high-rise buildings that make up the city skyline. The area is known for its vibrant atmosphere, with frequent events and festivals held in the park throughout the year from concerts, yoga classes, to farmers markets, and more.

Visit the Walt Disney Amphitheater to see a concert, movie or a play.

Swan Boat Rentals (pedal powered)

Operates Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Closed Mondays. Holiday hours vary.

First come, first serve, weather permitting. Rent at the dock on the west side of the lake. Cost is $15 for 30 minutes. Boats hold up to 5 people. Pets welcome.

See the glowing lights of Orlando as you kayak or paddleboard under the moonlight. Prices start at $75.


Multiple Food trucks available at the festival

There are multiple food truck options to choose from. You can get a taste of Mexican, Cuban, and Asian foods, or if you're wanting something sweet, there is The Tea Lizard for a variety of drinks, Cosmo’s Ice Cream for a huge array of ice cream and toppings, and other delectable desserts. You will find something here to satisfy any tastebud.

Enjoy a variety of drinks at The Tea Lizard. With infusions of green/black tea, and coconut milk/water mixed with a variety of fruits, you are sure to find something you will like.

Other food we tried were sushi at Sushi Suki, deep fried cheese sticks, pork nachos and several other delightful foods! Everything we tried was really good and there was such a great variety of foods to choose from.

The food trucks are spread out throughout the park giving you multiple options of entertainment to enjoy as you eat.

Cosmos Ice Cream

I love ice cream and will find any excuse to eat some. This ice cream food truck did not disappoint. Step up the window to order your ice cream and then head to the top deck of this truck to sit and enjoy the view of the surrounding park. Benches and bar counter are available for you to sit at and enjoy the view. We took our time eating while we people watched from the top of the food truck and listened to the live music playing.

PRIVATE AIRBOAT TOUR

Enjoy a 60-minute airboat tour to the Everglades while you view gators and other wildlife on this unforgettable private tour. Prices start at $93.75


The Discovery sculpture of a woman

The Discovery is a large sculpture of a woman at Lake Eola Park made of earth and stone, resting within the ground of this park. She is large enough to sit on as you enjoy the view of the surrounding park.

There are nine sculptures around the park as part of the See Art Orlando collection.

With multiple events throughout the year, this park gives you the opportunity to explore the outdoors while spending some quality family time enjoying downtown Orlando. Grab a bite to eat as you take a leisurely stroll around the lake.

The International Food on Wheels Festival in Orlando showcased a diverse array of cuisines from around the world, all served up with flair from the colorful food trucks lining the streets. The vibrant atmosphere of the community added to the experience, as locals and visitor alike came together to sample delicious food and live music.
