Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at River O’ Green Fest in Tampa, Florida

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Tampa Florida

Dying the Hillsborough River

Every year Tampa celebrates St Patrick’s Day with festivities all aglow in green. To start they celebrate with their annual St Patrick’s Day River O’ Green Fest at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. They dye the Hillsborough river green in celebration of this event!

As they are dying the river green you can come out and celebrate on the river by boating or kayaking.

This FREE event happens on the weekend from 4pm to 8pm. (Date varies each year) Pets are allowed and it is a family friendly event.

Address: 600 North Ashley Drive, Tampa Florida

Food Trucks, live music and games

Food trucks pop up for this celebration giving you time to enjoy some good food and green beer. They also have fun games and live music to enjoy. The year we went, 2023, they had about 6 food trucks total. They had a variety of food trucks from greek food, ice cream, grilled cheese and more.

Lots of sponsors help with this annual event to provide the activities and games for all to enjoy.

Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay Rays were there with their spin the wheel game where you could win tickets to the Rays game, koozies, lanyards and more. Let the kids play in the green fountain or take a picture next to the Lucky sign while enjoying the city view all lit up at night.

Jeni’s Ice Cream

Since we were in the area we stopped at our favorite ice cream shop. This is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Jeni’s is one of our all time favorite places to get ice cream with unique flavors that change with the season.

Address: 305 W Palm Ave, Tampa

If you are in the Tampa area for St Patrick’s day, make sure to stop by for some good food, games and live entertainment on this fun green filled day!
