Grasshopper Point in Arizona. Enjoy Refreshing Waters and Cliff Jumping Adventures.
Grasshopper Point
Grasshopper Point Swimming and Picnic Area provided a nice reprieve from the Arizona heat. This is a day use area where families go to cool off along the cliffs of Oak Creek Canyon. The view was beautiful along the red rock cliffs making it a wonderful view for a relaxing afternoon.

Hiking path
There is a rocky path leading to the water. Wear good walking shoes as you navigate the path. Once you are at the water you will continue to have larger rocks to climb over. Follow the noise as you will hear others enjoying their time at this park the closer you get to the water.
There are a few places you can set up a chair to relax in the shade while the kids play in the water. You can also take food and have a snack between swims. Some areas are deep so keep little kids next to you or have them wear a life jacket for safety.
There are a few trails to enjoy if you prefer to go hiking.
Cliff jumping
Cliff jumping is discouraged but there will be several people, us included, that will be jumping. They caution that there are varying depths to the water and hidden rocks below the water surface. USE CAUTION AND JUMP AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you are going to jump, follow where others are jumping for guidance.
There were two different cliffs. The middle pick shows the smaller cliff while the picture on the left shows varying heights to jump from.
This park is close to Slide Rock State Park which I highly recommend visiting also! If you only have time for one of the parks, I recommend Slide Rock State Park over Grasshopper Point.
Below, the map shows the distance between the parks. It also shows campgrounds close by for convenience.
We spent a few hours at this location before moving on to our next journey. There are areas you can swim in or sit on a large rock protruding from the water and sunbathe. This was a nice stop on our travels.
Have you been to either of these parks? Which one is your favorite? Comment below.
Enjoy the journey,
Jennifer
