Christmas traditions has been something my family looks forward to each year. We look forward to our time together during the holiday’s while we watch movies, eat sweet treats, and play games.

We have three different traditions I wanted to share with you. Hopefully you have some traditions your kids enjoy and if not maybe you can start your own traditions after reading this post.

Our first tradition is simple. We watch the movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss while we have our Grinch drink. We make a Grinch drink to go along with our supper by putting lime sherbet in a glass and adding Sprite on top of the sherbet. You can also add colored sugar on the rim of the glass. Easy peasy and a fun and simple tradition. Who doesn’t love Cindy Lou Who, she has an incredible need to love those who are different!

Our second tradition is to watch the Elf movie while eating supper. This Elf supper gets a lot of strange looks when I tell others about it. Throughout the movie you see Buddy the Elf’s love of sugar so we incorporated this into our meal. We make sp…

Our second tradition is to watch the Elf movie while eating supper. This “Elf supper” gets a lot of strange looks when I tell others about it. Throughout the movie you see Buddy the Elf’s love of sugar, so we incorporated this into our meal. We make spaghetti with ground hamburger and spaghetti sauce. We then add maple syrup, M&M’s (or other candy), and PopTarts to our dish (as seen below). Before you frown at this concoction you really need to try maple syrup on your spaghetti, it is SO GOOD!! This movie provides lots of laughs for us and we look forward to this every year!

Our third tradition is to make Christmas cookies/candy and watch Christmas movies on Netflix during Christmas Eve. There are so many good movies that are rated G or PG that are appropriate for our whole family to watch. We usually spend the day watching Christmas movies while eating our homemade goodies. It is fun to cuddle under a blanket with our family and keep warm while watching movies. If only I had a fireplace to add to the nostalgia of this moment!

This year we made Chocolate chip cookies, peanut clusters, toffee, and Chex mix. We also used our Keurig to make hot cocoa. We bought these new pods for our Keurig on Amazon and the kids love the variety of flavors. What are your favorite Christmas …

Each year we make a combination of things such as Chocolate chip cookies, peanut clusters, toffee, chocolate covered pretzels, snowballs, peanut brittle and Chex mix. We also used our Keurig to make hot cocoa. We bought these new pods for our Keurig on Amazon and the kids love the variety of flavors.

What are your favorite Christmas traditions you do with your family? I would love to hear from you and maybe it would inspire some new traditions for our family. I hope this inspires you to start some new traditions with your kids as well!

As I post this picture of our simple tree, it reminds me of one more tradition my children have looked forward to and beg me to do each year. See the blue, green and red bowls? Each year my kids ask me to choose a color for them and fill it with gifts that are the same color as the bowl. They LOVE this but it can at times be hard to find a lot of items a certain color without spending a fortune. Anyways, I think I came pretty close and they enjoyed the items in each bowl.

I hope you enjoy this Holiday season with your loved ones,

Jennifer
